Samba police solves theft case

SAMBA, Dec 21: Samba Police has solved a theft case registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana, arrested two lady accused and recovered cash amounting to Rs. 40000.00 from their possession which was unauthorizedly withdrawal from bank account through ATM Card in multiple transactions.
On 10.12.2024, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Bari Brahmana by one Anita Devi W/o Arjun Mandal R/o ESIC Colony Bari Brahmana regarding theft of her wallet containing SBI ATM Card alongwith its PIN by some unknown persons while she was travelling from Shastri Nagar Jammu to Bari Brahmana in a Mini Bus (Matador) and subsequently withdrawal cash of Rs. 40000.00 from her bank account in multiple transactions through ATMs using her stolen SBI ATM Card.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 161/2024 u/s 303(2) BNS got registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba found that cash was withdrawn from J&K Bank ATM Bari Brahmana and HDFC Bank ATM Bari Brahmana in four transactions of rupees 10,000/- each by the accused. Accordingly, on the analysis of CCTV footage of both the ATMs, it has found that two lady culprits had used the complainant ATM Card and withdrawal the cash amounting to Rs. 40,000/- from her bank account.
Both the accused ladies namely Muskaan W/o Sameer and Mehar-un-Nissa W/o Sohail Ahmed both resident of Sokh Nallah, Kani Gund district Budgam A/P Dohana Morh Jammu have been arrested from Teli Basti Bari Brahmana and on their disclosure cash of Rs. 40,000/- was recovered from their rented room at Dohana Morh, Phalian Mandal Jammu. Further investigation of the case is going on.
