Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: In a continued effort to combat illegal mining, Udhampur Police have seized a vehicle involved in unauthorized transportation of sand and gravel. A police team from Police Post Tikri, led by the In-Charge Police Post (ICPP), intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number JK14G-4055 at the Tikri checkpoint. The vehicle was found carrying sand and gravel illegally extracted from riverbeds. Subsequently, the vehicle was seized, and legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant laws. This action is part of the district police's ongoing efforts to curb illegal mining activities in the region. Earlier this year, Udhampur Police seized multiple vehicles involved in similar offenses, highlighting their commitment to enforcing mining regulations and protecting natural resources.
