GDC Ramnagar Hosts Documentary Screening on Veer Baal Diwas

Ramnagar, Dec 21: The Department of History, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, organized a special screening of the documentary Chaar Saahibzaade to mark the eve of Veer Baal Diwas. Held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal of GDC Ramnagar, the event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students alike.
Prof. Manmohan Singh, Head of the Department of History and the event organizer, opened the program by welcoming attendees and highlighting the significance of Veer Baal Diwas. Speaking about the sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s four sons, he remarked, “The story of the Chaar Sahibzaade is a timeless testament to courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. It is essential to pass this legacy to future generations to inspire them to uphold the values of justice, righteousness, and resilience.”
The screening of Chaar Saahibzaade offered a moving portrayal of the unparalleled bravery and sacrifices of the Sahibzaade, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. The documentary enriched the attendees’ understanding of this vital chapter in Sikh and Indian history.
Concluding the event, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandit, IQAC Coordinator, commended the initiative and noted, “This screening is not only a tribute to the sacrifices of the Sahibzaade but also a step towards educating our youth about the values of selflessness and devotion that define our rich heritage.”
The program was graced by the presence of faculty members, including Dr. Kewal Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Jeevan Kumar, Dr. Nazakit Hussain, Prof. Sanjay Malhotra, and Prof. Tanmeet Kour, alongside a large number of enthusiastic students. The overwhelming response to the event underscored the college’s commitment to fostering cultural and historical awareness among its students.
This initiative by GDC Ramnagar stands as a significant effort in commemorating Veer Baal Diwas while promoting the values of courage, resilience, and devotion among the youth.
