Jammu, Dec 24: R.N. Tagore Higher Secondary School, Sector-8, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, organized a remarkable mathematics exhibition, ‘RN Mathomania 2024-25,’ on its premises. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 5th to 12th, who showcased their creativity and innovation through various mathematical concepts.
Students prepared an array of working models, static models, charts, and illustrations, presenting diverse topics in mathematics such as Trigonometry, Graphs, Geometry, Algebra, Polynomials, and Circles. Their projects included shape constructions, mental calculations, diagrams, and compilations of photographs and life histories of renowned mathematicians, reflecting both their talent and understanding of mathematical principles.
The event was graced by Sh. Narinder Singh (JKAS), Senior Accounts Officer, as the Chief Guest. Sh. Sanjeev Sharma and Mrs. Rita Sharma, Senior Lecturers in Mathematics, attended as Special Guests.
The program commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by the school’s Principal, Dr. Hitesh Mahajan. In his address, Dr. Mahajan highlighted the school’s vision of fostering innovation in Science and Mathematics among students. He also recalled last year’s successful science exhibition, ‘SCISTORM 2023-24,’ which emphasized working models related to scientific concepts.
Chief Guest Sh. Narinder Singh applauded the efforts of the students, teachers, and school management for nurturing a spirit of innovation, which he described as "the need of the hour."
The Special Guests, Sh. Sanjeev Sharma and Mrs. Rita Sharma, provided valuable feedback to the students and encouraged them to continue excelling in their endeavors.
Prominent figures, including Sh. Rameshwar Singh Manas, President of the Private School Coordination Committee; Sh. Surjeet Choudhary, former Corporator of Ward No. 43; and S. Harinder Pal Singh, were also present. They commended the students’ hard work and innovative displays.
In his closing remarks, Principal Dr. Hitesh Mahajan praised the dedication of the students and teachers, emphasizing the importance of such activities in enhancing conceptual understanding and creativity.
