Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 26: The Department of Punjabi, in collaboration with NSS units and the Cultural and Literary Committee of SPMR College, organized a poetry competition on the theme "Chaar Sahibzaade" to observe Bal Veer Diwas. The event paid tribute to the sacrifices of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji-Sahibzada Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh, and Fateh Singh. Ten students participated, with Taranpreet Kour (3rd Semester) winning first prize, Gurleen Kour (1st Semester) taking second, and Gurtaz Kour (1st Semester) securing third. Judges for the competition were Prof. Ashwini Sharma, HOD Hindi, and Dr. Chetna Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of English. Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college, congratulated the winners and applauded the organizers. Prof. Pawan Gupta highlighted the significance of the Sahibzaade's sacrifices, urging everyone to embody their values. Dr. Mamta Rani, HOD Punjabi, emphasized the cultural importance of Bal Veer Diwas. The program, coordinated by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Deepak Pathania, and Dr. Mamta Rani, saw active participation from faculty members, including Dr. Sunal, Prof. Esha Abrol, Prof. Sabia, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Dr. Jasvinder Singh, and Dr. Suresh Sharma. |
