Samba, Dec 26: Samba Police successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, rescuing 15 bovines and seizing the vehicle used for illegal transportation. A police team, led by SHO PS Ghagwal, was conducting vehicle checks at NHW Naka Tapyal when they signaled a truck (registration No. JK02AB-9535) for inspection. The driver, attempting to evade the check, accelerated and tried to flee. The police team, however, chased the vehicle and intercepted it a short distance away. Upon checking, the truck was found carrying 15 bovines, tied in a cruel manner, and being transported without valid permission. The rescued bovines were shifted to a safe location. A case (FIR No. 181/2024) has been registered under Sections 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act, and an investigation is underway. |
