DODA, Dec 26: A grand event to mark Veer Baal Diwas under the theme "Veerta" was held today here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The event was organized by the Office of Chief Education Officer, in collaboration with the District Administration Doda and ICDS Poshan.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Harvinder Singh was the Chief Guest, while Program Officer ICDS Poshan Paramjeet Singh; CEO Prakash Lal Thappa and District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Tariq Parvaiz Qazi were the Special guests.
A large audience comprising principals, teachers, students, and civil society members gathered for the vibrant program. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, symbolizing the theme of courage and enlightenment.
Students showcased their talents through spirited debates, creative paintings, and cultural performances, all centered on the theme of bravery and resilience. Addressing the gathering, Harvinder Singh highlighted the importance of inculcating the values of bravery and resilience among young minds. He praised the collaborative efforts of the organizing departments for providing a platform to celebrate and reflect on the legacy of historical heroes who exemplified courage. The event also featured the distribution of participation certificates and educational kits to students, alongside the distribution of books to children under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. The dignitaries further donated books to promote the education of girls, reinforcing the commitment to empowering women through education.
