Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 27: J&K Police have rescued nine passengers who were stranded due to snowfall at Sinthan Top in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday, officials said. Police received a distress call, made by a passenger, that their vehicle which was on the way to Daksum from Kishtwar skidded off the road and fell into a water drain, leaving its occupants stranded in challenging weather conditions. Meanwhile, in view of inclement weather, District Police Ganderbal constituted police teams and deputed them across the district for providing helping hand to general public and tourists to avoid any untoward incident or distress especially in farflung areas, Tourism Places and areas prone to heavy Snowfall. "The constituted teams are continuously providing helping hand to stranded passengers, Tourists & vehicles stuck in the snow", police said. The Ganderbal police have also issued phone numbers which will be available 24×7 in case of any emergency and the general public can contact.
