Jammu, Dec 27: A deputation from the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, led by Vice President J.A. Aga and Provincial President Kuldeep Singh Bandral, met with the Hon’ble Minister for Education, Mtm Sakina Itoo, at her chamber in the Civil Secretariat in Jammu. The meeting, conducted under the guidance of Chief Patron Sh. Ganesh Khajuria and Chairman Jb. Mohd Shafi Rather, focused on addressing several pressing concerns for educators in Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation raised the following demands with the Education Minister: • Adjustment of promotee teachers • Filling of vacant posts of CEOs, Principals, Lecturers, ZEOs, and Headmasters • Distribution of free textbooks in winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir Division • Conduct of ATD (Annual Transfer Drive) • Introduction of a transfer policy for Grade II and Grade III teachers • Implementation of a dress code in all schools of Jammu and Kashmir UT. Following the meeting with the Education Minister, the deputation also presented a memorandum to Sh. Atal Dullo, the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir UT, highlighting the demand for the release of a 3% DA (Dearness Allowance) due from July 2024. The delegation further met with the Accountant General Treasuries to discuss issues related to the G.P. Fund and gratuity. The officials attentively listened to the concerns and assured the deputation that necessary steps would be taken to address the issues raised. The delegation was composed of several key members, including Gautam Singh, Pawan Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Sanjeet Manhas, Vijay Kumar, Subash Chander, Ashok Kumar, Omkar Singh, Rattan Chand, Suresh Kumar, Zakir Hussain Magrey, Sartaj Bhat, Narinder Singh, Maneer Ahmad Bhat, and others. |
