UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: A shocking incident of violence occurred at Salathia Chowk, Udhampur, where a youth, Sourav Rathore, son of Maan Singh and a resident of Umala, was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him critically injured.
According to sources, the attack took place this afternoon when Sourav had visited the court for personal reasons.
As he exited the premises, a group of youths armed with sharp weapons chased him. In an attempt to escape, Sourav ran into a nearby office or shop, but the attackers followed him and launched a brutal assault, causing severe injuries.
Acting swiftly, Udhampur Police rushed Sourav to GMC Udhampur for emergency medical treatment. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was later referred to GMC Jammu for advanced care.
When contacted DySP Headquarter Udhampur, Parladh Sharma, confirmed the arrest of one accused involved in the attack. "We have identified two attackers. One has been apprehended, and efforts are underway to arrest the second. Strict action will be taken against all those responsible for this heinous act," the DySP stated. The police have launched a thorough investigation to uncover the motive behind the attack and bring all culprits to justice. |
