Early Times Report SAMBA, Jan 15: Samba Police, in collaboration with AIIMS Vijaypur, Jammu, organized a one-day workshop on evidence handling during inquest proceedings at District Police Lines, Samba. The workshop, attended by Gazetted Officers, SHOs, and Investigating Officers of Samba Police, aimed to enhance skills in handling sensitive cases involving deceased individuals. A team from AIIMS Vijaypur, led by Dr. Dinesh Rao (Incharge Forensic), alongside Dr. Vatun Chandran and Harpreet Singh, provided expert guidance on protocols for managing cases of suicide, hanging, overdose fatalities, and other inquest scenarios. The session emphasized evidence collection procedures and precautionary measures. An interactive segment allowed participants to raise queries, which were thoroughly addressed by the AIIMS experts. Speaking at the event, SSP Samba highlighted the importance of professionalism and skill enhancement in handling such cases. The SSP also thanked the AIIMS team for their valuable contributions and presented mementos as a token of appreciation.
