Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 15: In a significant crackdown on the illegal liquor trade, the District Police Udhampur arrested a person and seized 13 bottles of illicit liquor during a routine patrolling operation. The incident occurred when a police team from Police Station (PS) Ramnagar, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), was performing regular checks at the Bus Stand area. The team noticed a suspicious individual, identified as Narinder Kumar, son of Ram Krishan, a resident of Katwalt, Ramnagar, who attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence. Upon frisking, the police recovered 13 bottles of JK Special Whisky (750 ml each) from his possession. The accused was immediately arrested, and further investigation is underway. A case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at PS Ramnagar, and efforts are being made to curb the production, sale, and consumption of illicit liquor in the district. |
