Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 16: Sanskriti Jain, a student of M.Sc. Biotechnology at the Centre for Molecular Biology, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), participated in a week-long workshop on molecular biology at IISER Pune. The workshop provided a blend of theoretical and practical experiences, aimed at enhancing participants' understanding of advanced molecular techniques. The program started with foundational topics such as lab safety and pipetting, followed by practical sessions on plasmid extraction, PCR for insert preparation, and cloning principles. Sanskriti's learning journey also included RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, and qPCR, with a focus on gene expression regulation. Additionally, an industrial visit provided real-world insights into biotechnology applications. Reflecting on her experience, Sanskriti expressed how the workshop expanded her technical skills and solidified her passion for molecular biology research. She also appreciated the opportunity to interact with peers and experts, which reinforced her commitment to pursuing a career in molecular biology. The Centre for Molecular Biology at CUJ, under the leadership of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain, continues to support students by offering exposure to high-end skill-building workshops, both within and outside the institution. Prof. Jain congratulated Ms. Sanskriti for her participation and highlighted the importance of skill-building in molecular biology to address health and environmental challenges. Dr. Narendra K. Bairwa, Director of the Centre, also praised Sanskriti for her initiative and active involvement in the workshop. |
