UDHAMPUR, Jan 16: Majalta police, led by the SHO, intercepted a load carrier vehicle (Registration No. JK14G-9997) during patrolling and vehicle checking at Battal on Dhar road. Upon inspection, seven bovines were found tied cruelly inside the vehicle, being transported without valid permission.
The accused, identified as Mohd. Sharief, son of Mirza Khan, resident of Dhamma, Majalta, and his associate, Mohd. Sharief, son of Hakam Din, resident of Krimachi, Mansar, were arrested on the spot.
The rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer location. A case, FIR No. 06/2025, has been registered at Police Station Majalta under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
