Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: The S.K. Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, successfully concluded two five-day training programs: the Crash Course on New Criminal Laws-2023 and the Course on Women Safety. The Crash Course on New Criminal Laws-2023, conducted from 14th to 18th January, was attended by 30 officials from Udhampur and Reasi districts. The program focused on the practical application of the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-2023, equipping participants to address contemporary law enforcement challenges effectively. Simultaneously, the Course on Women Safety, sponsored by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi, provided training to 20 J&K Police officers. This program emphasized enhancing investigative skills and sensitizing officers to handle crimes against women, including those involving provisions under the IT Act, with professionalism and empathy. The valedictory ceremony, presided over by Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor), SKPA, highlighted the significance of these trainings. Shri Gupta emphasized the importance of understanding new criminal laws and ensuring sensitive, guideline-driven investigations in cases involving women victims. The Crash Course on New Criminal Laws was coordinated by Shri Amit Parkash Sehgal, Sr.PO, with support from Inspector Subash Chander, while the Course on Women Safety was coordinated by Inspector Anil Raina, assisted by SI Dhian Singh, both esteemed faculty members of SKPA Udhampur.
