National Road Safety Month 2025 celebrated at College with Awareness Rally and Lecture | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 25: To mark the observance of 'National Road Safety Month 2025,' the Road Safety Club, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of the college, organized a series of impactful activities aimed at raising awareness about road safety. The event included an awareness rally and a lecture, with a focus on promoting safer road practices among the general public. The rally aimed to educate the public about the importance of adhering to traffic rules, using the latest road safety technologies, and encouraging responsible driving behavior. Volunteers actively engaged with riders, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets to prevent concussions, brain damage, and injuries from accidents. Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Convener of the Road Safety Club, addressed the students, stressing the need for community involvement through local events and interactive sessions to spread road safety awareness. She also encouraged schools, businesses, and local organizations to take an active role in promoting safety. Dr. Purvaiya Hans, Programme Officer (NSS), advocated for the use of seat belts, helmets, and other safety gear to reduce injury severity in the event of an accident. The event was conducted under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Rakwal, with active participation from Dr. Harpreet Kour, Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, and Dr. Purvaiya Hans, along with the members of the Road Safety and NSS Clubs. |
