National Voters Day celebrated at GDC Ramgarh | | | Early Times Report RAMGARH, Jan 25: The 15th National Voters Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Government Degree College (GDC), Ramgarh, in collaboration with the District Election Officer, Samba. The event was organized with the aim of promoting voter awareness and encouraging active participation in the democratic process. The whole programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College with the support of support of faculty members. The program was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ms. Sunaina Saini, SDM Ghagwal, Mr. Abhimanyu Kalsotra, Tehsildar Ramgarh, and Ms. Neha Choudhary, BDO Ramgarh. The event commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and a beautiful rendition of Saraswati Vandana followed by the formal welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of GDC Ramgarh. As part of the celebration, students delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the significance of National Voters Day and the importance of every citizen's contribution to a thriving democracy. In a special recognition ceremony, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from the Ramgarh constituency, who had shown exceptional dedication and hard work during the previous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, were honored with Certificates of Appreciation by the administration. Further, Ms. Sunaina Saini, SDM Ghagwal, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of voter education and participation in strengthening democracy. She encouraged the youth, in particular, to engage with the electoral process and be responsible citizens. Mr. Abhimanyu Kalsotra, Tehsildar Ramgarh, also highlighted the critical role that every vote plays in shaping the future of the nation. He urged everyone not only to vote but also to actively promote awareness and encourage others to participate in the elections. To make the event even more interactive, a special Selfie Point was set up at the college by the district administration, where students were encouraged to take selfies and share them on social media. This initiative aimed to raise awareness and amplify the message of voting, encouraging widespread participation. The event concluded with a pledge, where all present vowed to fulfill their duties as responsible voters and promote awareness about the importance of voting. The program was attended by faculty members and students of the college. At last, refreshment was also distributed to all the students and staff present at the event by District Election Officer, Samba. |
