Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 1: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Saturday lauded the Union Budget 2025, taking into account its key provisions for supporting the middle class, bolstering public edifice, and promoting all-round economic growth. In a press statement, the BJP stalwart leader extended strong support to PM Narendra Modi and FM Nirmala Sitharaman for introducing a new tax slab, where individuals with an annual income up to Rs. 12 lakh will be exempt from paying income tax. "This landmark decision, announced as part of the latest budgetary reforms, is seen as a strategic step to ease the financial burden on the Indian middle class, especially in the wake of rising inflation and increasing cost of living", he said while claiming that the Modi Government has once again proven its commitment to the welfare of the common man by introducing this tax relief. "With the cost of essential goods and services rising steadily due to inflation, this measure will provide much-needed succour to the middle class, empowering them to retain more of their hard-earned income," the senior party functionary maintained. He said that the new IT slabs are likely to give the people the opportunity to save, invest, and contribute more actively to the economy. He said that this policy aligns with the government's focus on economic inclusivity, as it directly addresses the financial challenges faced by the backbone of India's economy viz. the middle class |
