Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 3: Anand Jain, an officer of the 1999 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed Jammu & Kashmir at the Armed Police Headquarters (APHQ) in Jammu today. On his arrival, Jain was accorded a Guard of Honour by a smart contingent of the Armed Police. Senior officers, including Sarah Rizvi-IPS, DIG IR Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma-IPS, DIG JKS Range, Vinod Kumar-IPS, DIG AP Jammu, and Dalip Kumar, SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, were present on the occasion. Jain, who was previously serving as ADGP Jammu Zone, took over the new role following his transfer from the Jammu Zone, as per the order issued by the Home Department of J&K on January 30, 2025. He succeeded Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS, who had held the position earlier. The ADGP commenced his duties by inspecting all the branches and sections of the APHQ Complex. He interacted with the staff to gain firsthand insights into their functioning and operations, marking the beginning of his tenure in the new role. |
