Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 5: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Jammu Division successfully conducted a three-day workshop from February 3 to 5, 2025, on "Developing a Handbook for Parents of Students of Foundational Stage." The event brought together 50 resource persons, including educators, researchers, and counselors, to create a comprehensive guide to support children's early development. In her inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT J&K, emphasized the importance of early childhood care and education (ECCE) in shaping lifelong learning. Ms. Kamini Verma, Sr. A.O., welcomed the participants, stressing the need for accessible resources to aid parents in enhancing their children's development. The workshop focused on key developmental areas such as cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language growth, with participants engaging in sessions and group discussions. The handbook aims to provide parents and caregivers with practical strategies for supporting young children's holistic development.
