DC Rajouri orders door-to-door campaign to encourage registration

RAJOURI, Feb 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office to review the progress made in the promotion and registration for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme aims to promote solar energy adoption and provide affordable electricity to consumers.
During the meeting, the DC directed officials to identify beneficiaries paying electricity bills exceeding ₹ 2,000 per month and prioritize them under the scheme after imparting adequate awareness. He emphasized the need for an intensive door-to-door awareness campaign to educate the public about the benefits of the initiative.
To strengthen enforcement, ADCs, ACD, and SDMs were instructed to increase monitoring in their respective jurisdictions to keep check on power pilferage, theft. Additionally, they were directed to inspect commercial units, including crushers and welding shops to check compliance with electricity regulations.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the installation of smart meters to enhance transparency and efficiency in power consumption. He further instructed JPDCL to assign daily targets to JEs for registering beneficiaries and mandated their on-boarding to expedite the registration process.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan, CPO Maqsood Ahmed, SE PDD, Ex En PDD Abdul Rasheed and other district and sectoral officers.
