BGSBU observes Safer Internet Day | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 11: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) observed Safer Internet Day with an awareness program organized by the Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies and Research. The event aimed to educate students and faculty about cybersecurity, digital responsibility, and safe internet practices. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, in his message, emphasized the critical role of digital literacy in today's technology-driven world. The event featured insightful presentations by Dr. Qamar Rayees Khan, Head, Department of Computer Applications, and Dr. Manmeet Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology Engineering, both esteemed experts in their respective fields. Dr. Qamar Rayees Khan delivered an in-depth session on cybersecurity fundamentals and emerging digital threats. He provided a detailed analysis of the risks associated with data breaches, malware attacks, and phishing scams, emphasizing the importance of robust cybersecurity measures for individuals and organizations. Dr. Khan also shed light on ethical hacking, encryption techniques, and the need for strong password management to safeguard personal and professional data. Dr. Manmeet Singh focused on practical strategies for digital safety and responsible internet usage.
