Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Feb 11: Udhampur police successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt at Rehambal, rescuing 28 cattle and arresting the smuggler. During routine patrolling and vehicle checking at Naka Point Rehambal, a police team from PS Rehambal intercepted a truck (JK13E-4142). Upon inspection, 28 bovines were found tied in a cruel manner, being transported illegally without valid permission. The accused, identified as Sameer Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Chamalwass, Ramban, was arrested on the spot. The rescued bovines were shifted to a safe location. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal, and further investigation is underway. |
