Early Times Report KATHUA, Feb 11: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas (IAS), Kathua has once again secured the top position in implementing the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) for January 2025, maintaining its lead among 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir UT. Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Kathua, Sanjeev Rai Gupta, attributed this achievement to the dedication of field functionaries and staff. He emphasized the district's success in key areas such as farmer registration, application approvals on the Kisan Sathi Portal, unit establishment, and credit support through loan cases. Launched in 2023-24 by LG Manoj Sinha, HADP aims to enhance agriculture through technical skill development, farm automation, apiculture, floriculture, and mushroom cultivation. Notably, Kathua's mushroom production has surged from 800 quintals in 2022-23 to 8,200 quintals, while honey production has increased from 125 quintals to 758 quintals. CAO Gupta reaffirmed the department's commitment to sustaining this growth and implementing more farmer-friendly initiatives in the district. |
