Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: In preparation for the upcoming Mahashivratri Festival, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal convened a comprehensive meeting to assess and enhance the district's readiness for the celebrations. The festival's highlights include a procession of 'Jhankis' (tableaux) scheduled for February 25, commencing from the historic Ranbireshwar Temple. Additionally, the Peer Kho Temple will host the Mahashivratri Mela from February 25 to 28, offering devotees a series of spiritual and cultural events. The ADC emphasised the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure the festival's smooth execution. "The festival is an opportunity to showcase our commitment to public service and cultural heritage," she stated. Discussions encompassed various aspects of the festival preparations, such as traffic management, security arrangements, sanitation and the provision of essential services to accommodate the influx of devotees. The ADC directed the departments to implement best practices and to remain vigilant to address any challenges promptly. The meeting saw participation from officers, including Assistant Commissioner General Vikas Dhar Bagati, Executive Engineers Jal Shakti Rajesh Kumar and Rashpal Singh, SP North Vivek Shekhar, Dy.SP Traffic Anubhuti, along with other district officers and representatives from religious organisations and temple authorities. |
