KISHTWAR, Feb 14: A meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) was convened here today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan. During the session, Member Secretary RTA (ARTO) Tasleem Wani presented a total of 26 cases of Letter of Authority (LAs) and 144 cases for All J&K Route Permits. Following the review, 11 cases for the purchase of Stage Carriage Mini Buses and 15 cases for four-wheeler Tata Magic/Maximo vehicles (including 10 under the MUMKIN Scheme) were approved. Additionally, 144 All J&K Route Permits were sanctioned. The meeting also deliberated upon applications for change of route, which were deferred pending verification of the demand in under-served areas. The Chairman RTA emphasized the importance of public safety and directed the Member Secretary to assess route conditions before granting Letters of Authority to applicants. Furthermore, strict directives were issued to the RTA officials to monitor and regulate traffic congestion in Kishtwar town. The Chairman instructed the ARTO to ensure proper parking arrangements for passenger vehicles across the district and implement measures to ease traffic flow. Chairman RTA, Kishtwar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Pawan Kumar (JKPS), along with other concerned officials, attended the meeting. |
