Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: The Department of English, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), in collaboration with Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India, is set to host a National Seminar on "The Role of Regional Languages in the Development of the Nation with Respect to NEP 2020." The seminar is scheduled to be held on February 19,at BGSBU. Eminent linguist Prof. R.C. Sharma from the Department of Linguistics, University of Delhi, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal stated that the university remains committed to fostering intellectual dialogue and policy-driven discussions that contribute to India's vision for an inclusive and multilingual educational framework. Prof. Jawaid Iqbal said that this seminar will motivate all faculty members to come up with vibrant academic activities, fostering a culture of intellectual engagement and scholarly contributions, aligning with BGSBU's vision of academic excellence. Prof. M.J. Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, BGSBU, who is the seminar director informed that the seminar will focus on the intrinsic link between language and thought, exploring how language shapes human reasoning and innovation. The discussions will highlight the transformative potential of language in policymaking, education, and governance, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
