Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 480th Friday Series Musical Play, "Pancham Veda," as part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2025 - International Theatre Festival of India. The event was held at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu, in collaboration with the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Sangam Tru Art Production. The play, written by Lalit Parkash and directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, was assisted by Raj Kumar Bhat, a renowned theater personality. The program was inaugurated by Sh. V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India. The Guests of Honor included Sh. J.K. Raina (Freelance Producer & Director, Films), Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra (Directorate of Health, J&K Government), and Mukesh Singh (Media Person, Jammu). The event commenced with traditional performances, including Shlok Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Maheshwara, Ved Mantra, and various folk dances. The musical compositions were created by Sh. M.C. Kotwal, assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor at BLSKS. In his address, the Chief Guest highlighted the significance of Natya Shastra, also known as Pancham Veda, which integrates performing arts with spiritual teachings. Dr. M.L. Dogra emphasized the role of the play in preserving Indian culture and promoting moral values through entertainment. He also lauded NSD for its efforts in showcasing Indian theatre globally. The event featured captivating performances by renowned artists, including K.K. Joshi, Raju Bajgal, Bindia Okheda, Chahat Chadha, M.C. Kotwal, Kuldeep Raj, Nazuk Bhagat, Sant Dass, Naiya Digra, and Renu Bala. The play was also uploaded online for a wider audience.
