Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 17: Civil Defence, Jammu, inaugurated a five-day Civil Defence Training Program under the supervision of Dy.SP. Anita Pawar, Dy. Controller Civil Defence Jammu at Govt. Degree College Bishnah, Jammu. The primary objective of this initiative is to train students in emergency response, rescue operations, and life-saving techniques. 100 students actively participating in the program, showing deep interest in learning disaster management strategies. The event was graced by Dy. SP Anita Pawar, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence Jammu, as the chief guest. On the inaugural programme of the training, she delivered a lecture and highlighted the role of Civil Defence and importance of this training. She stated that disaster preparedness is not just an institutional responsibility but a social commitment, and such programs empower students with essential life-saving skills. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Anju Bala Vice- Principal of the Degree College emphasized the significance of Civil Defence training in the current era. She appreciated the collaborative efforts of Civil Defence Jammu and Dr. Geeta, Lakhotra NSS programme Officer in organizing this training and encouraged students to actively participate and implement their learning's in real-life situations. The five-day program will continue with practical training sessions, expert-led awareness lectures, and live demonstrations to equip students and staff with extensive knowledge and experience in disaster management.
