Satish Sharma reviews development in Udhampur 2/20/2025 10:08:32 PM Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: Cabinet Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Govt Satish Sharma visited Udhampur today for his first review meeting , assessing key developmental concerns in the district. Addressing the media, he acknowledged gaps in transport, sports, and drug eradication , assuring that the government is committed to addressing these issues step by step. Speaking exclusively with Early Times over the phone , Minister Sharma emphasized the importance of efficient administration in driving progress. He appreciated the efforts of DC Udhampur Saloni Rai , stating that the district administration has been performing well. However, he assured that any deficiencies in governance would be identified and rectified in due course. During his visit to Subash Stadium , Minister Sharma ordered the demarcation of stadium land , a crucial step toward its expansion and better utilization for sporting activities. He assured that all necessary facilities for youth sports development , as highlighted by the district administration, would be provided. Recognizing the need for enhanced sports infrastructure, he envisioned transforming Subash Stadium into a premier venue , stating that efforts would be made to develop it to a level where it could potentially host IPL matches in the future . Apart from sports, the minister also addressed public concerns regarding transportation and drug-related issues , stating that measures would be implemented to improve public transport services and curb drug abuse through strict enforcement and awareness campaigns. Minister Sharma's visit reflects a proactive approach toward Udhampur's holistic development , focusing on strengthening infrastructure, public welfare, and youth engagement .
