| GDC Khour conducts mega plantation drive | | |  Early Times Report
KHOUR, Feb 21: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College Khour organized mega plantation drive on the fourth day of ongoing special winter camp. The drive was conducted to bring awareness about the green cover and in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Enthusiastic NSS volunteers, various faculty members of the College and officials of Social Forestry Department participated in the plantation drive in which 35 tree saplings were planted in various locations of the College. The plantation drive at GDC Khour is a testament to our commitment to safe guard the environment and leaving a positive impact on the environment. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) T. K Sharma, Principal of the College spoke about the importance of tree plantation and its conservation. He said that trees are synonyms to life. When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of hope and seeds of peace. He further added that planting a tree and safe guarding it, is our moral responsibility by which we can give a better environment to our coming generations. The whole event was supervised by Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, NSS PO. He appreciated the efforts of social forestry department for providing tree saplings. The drive culminated with fervent engagement of NSS volunteers in the beautification and cleanliness drive in the campus. |
