Thannamandi, Feb 22: The Department of Political Science of Government Degree College Thannamandi organized an insightful and thought-provoking thematic lecture and panel discussion as part of celebration of 75th year of adaptation of the Indian Constitution here today.
The event focused on two essential topics: the Preamble of the Constitution and the fundamental rights and duties that ensure the strength of Indian democracy.
The event aimed to engage students in understanding the significance of constitutional provisions and their role in shaping a democratic society.
The program commenced with a detailed lecture on the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, delivered by Dr. Mohd Zabir, Head Department of Political Science. His lecture provided an in-depth exploration of the Preamble’s evolution, its philosophical underpinnings, and its vital role in laying down the principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity for all citizens of India. Dr. Zabir highlighted how the Preamble sets the foundation for the Constitution, establishing a framework that guides the nation’s legal, social, and political systems.
The lecture was held under the esteemed patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed, Principal of the College, who expressed his support for initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of constitutional values.
