Katra, Feb 22: Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), had the esteemed opportunity to participate in Aero India 2025, held at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru. The prestigious airshow, renowned as Asia’s largest aviation event, witnessed participation from over 27 countries, including the USA, Russia, Australia, France, and Sweden. The event showcased cutting-edge aviation technology, featuring historic moments such as the joint display of the USA’s F-35A and Russia’s Su-57E stealth fighter jets for the first time ever on the same tarmac. A significant highlight of Aero India 2025 was India’s unveiling of a full-scale model of its first fifth-generation stealth aircraft, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The event also attracted 930 exhibitors, including over 100 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and featured a CEOs Roundtable with 55 industry leaders from 19 countries, fostering discussions on the future of aerospace and defense technology. The airshow was inaugurated by Defence Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh and welcomed dignitaries from around the world, including Defence Ministers and representatives from 30 countries, as well as Air Chiefs and Secretaries from 43 nations, reinforcing its international significance. During the event, Dr. Varun Dutta had the privilege of interacting with Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and engaging with pilots and ground crew members of the renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team. He also interacted with aviation experts from the USA, Russia, and Sweden. A key highlight of his experience was participating in flight simulations of the Su-30MKI, Su-57E, and SAAB Gripen aircraft. The concluding day of Aero India 2025 featured a breathtaking aerial display, with aircraft such as the KC-135 Stratotanker, Light Utility Helicopter, Su-30MKI, F-16, Hansa, HTT-40, IJT, FBT, LCA Mk-1A, and an exhilarating performance by the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team. In addition to attending the airshow, Dr. Varun Dutta visited the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) in Bengaluru, where he interacted with Indian Air Force officers and officials from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). ASTE plays a crucial role in flight testing airborne systems developed by organizations such as DRDO and HAL for the Indian Air Force. Dr. Dutta expressed his gratitude to SMVDU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, and Registrar, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma (JKAS), for providing him with the opportunity to witness this landmark event and engage with global aerospace experts.
