IIM Jammu launches trekking- based leadership program

JAMMU, Feb 25: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated a unique trekking-based Management Development Programme (MDP) for NTPC's young leaders at the Prahalad Classroom on Feb 25, 2025.
The three-day program (Feb 24-26) aims to enhance leadership skills through experiential learning in the Himalayas. A total of 49 participants from across India are taking part in this initiative, featuring seven specialized sessions for professional growth.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Prof. Jabir Ali (Dean Academics), Prof. Nitin Upadhyay (Program Director), Dr. Ateeque Shaikh (Chairperson, EE&C), and Dr. Chinmaya K. Swain (Program Director).
Prof. Jabir Ali emphasized NTPC's vital role in nation-building and highlighted the synergy between academic expertise and industry experience. Prof. Nitin Upadhyay encouraged participants to embrace personal growth, quoting Mark Twain on the importance of discovering one's purpose.
Dr. Ateeque Shaikh outlined IIM Jammu's expanding training programs, thanking NTPC for its collaboration and urging participants to make the most of the experience. Dr. Chinmaya Swain concluded the event with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
