Online Services

In an era driven by digital transformation, the Jammu and Kashmir government has made remarkable strides in enhancing governance through online services. By embracing technology, the administration has streamlined various public services, making them more accessible, efficient, and transparent.
The shift to digital platforms has not only reduced bureaucratic delays but also empowered citizens, particularly those residing in remote areas, by bringing essential services to their fingertips.
One of the most significant achievements of digital governance in Jammu and Kashmir is the introduction of the e-UNNAT portal, which offers seamless access to over 100 online services. These include birth and death certificates, domicile certificates, income certificates, and various other government-related documents.
Previously, obtaining such documents required multiple visits to government offices, leading to unnecessary delays and corruption. With online availability, citizens can now apply from their homes, track application status, and receive documents digitally, thus saving time and effort.
The online revenue services, including land record digitization under the Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani initiative, have been a game-changer. By providing digital access to land records, the government has ensured transparency in property transactions, reducing land disputes and illegal encroachments.
This initiative has particularly benefited farmers and property owners, who can now verify their records without intermediaries, thereby preventing fraudulent activities.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has also transformed the employment sector with digital solutions. The online employment registration portal allows job seekers to access job listings, skill development programs, and career counseling services. The government’s push towards digital education has similarly revolutionized learning, with online classes, digital libraries, and e-learning platforms ensuring uninterrupted education, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The healthcare sector has also seen a remarkable improvement due to digital interventions. The launch of online appointment systems in government hospitals, telemedicine services, and digital health records has significantly eased access to medical care. Patients no longer need to stand in long queues for consultations, as they can now schedule appointments online and even consult doctors virtually. This has been especially beneficial for elderly citizens and those in far-flung areas with limited healthcare facilities.
Additionally, digital payment services for electricity, water, and other utilities have eliminated the need for in-person transactions, enhancing convenience and ensuring timely payments. The online grievance redressal mechanisms have empowered citizens to report issues and seek resolution efficiently, fostering greater accountability within the administration.
The digitization of public services in Jammu and Kashmir is a testament to the power of technology in transforming governance. By reducing bureaucratic hurdles, increasing transparency, and enhancing service delivery, the government’s digital initiatives are empowering the common people, paving the way for a more efficient and citizen-centric administration.
