World Cancer Care to organize Screening & Awareness Camps

JAMMU, Mar 4: Balvinder Singh Vice President DGPC Jammu along with S Surjit Singh Secretary DGPC Jammu, S Harjit Singh S Avtar Singh, S Balvinder Singh, S Tejinder Singh all members DGPC Jammu while addressing the Press conference shared the detail Cancer Screening & Awareness Camp being organized in Jammu City at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak dev Ji on 15th & 16th March 2025 , in collaboration with DGPC Jammu and Health Employees Welfare Association Jammu headed by Ravinder Singh Rosy. Balvinder stated that this initiative, running from March 15th to March 16th, aims to provide free and high-quality cancer screening facilities to ensure better healthcare for the community. He said WCC shall depute Advanced Mobile Units & Expert Medical Team with a team of 25 experienced Medical professionals in the said camp.
Where free Screenings & Healthcare Services The following tests and medical services shall be provided free of cost at these camps: Mammography - Breast cancer screening, PAP SMEAR - Cervical cancer screening, PSA Test - Prostate cancer screening (for men), Oral & Throat Examination - Screening for oral and throat cancer, Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Test - Checks bone strength and calcium deficiency, Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Monitoring, Free General Medicines.
Apart from the screenings, the camps will focus on educating people about cancer prevention. Informational brochures will be distributed, and special awareness lectures by expert doctors will be conducted to guide people on lifestyle changes that can help prevent cancer. This unique initiative is a major step toward saving lives and promoting early detection.
Surjit Singh, Secretary of DGPC Jammu, also appealed to the Sangat of Jammu Division to take maximum advantage of these camps as they are being organized for the first time in Jammu Division.
