Early Times Report SAMBA, Mar 5: Shri Pandit Premnath Dogra Government Degree College Samba recently organized "Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas" under the patronage of the principal Dr. Twinkle Suri to raise awareness about cyber security and cyber crimes among students. Principal in her address highlighted the growing misuse of social and advised students to be mindful of their online presence. Dr. Pooja, Head of the Department of Commerce, who welcomed the attendees and introduced the various speakers. Dr. Sumit Sharma, Dy.Sp. Headquarter Samba, was the key resource person for the event. He highlighted the importance of cyber security in today's digital world, emphasizing that mobile devices have become an essential part of daily life, and their misuse can lead to serious issues. He outlined various cyber threats such as e-office hacking, malware dysfunction, social engineering frauds, CVV & OTP sharing, UPI phishing apps, screen sharing risks, financial frauds, cyber bullying, lottery scams, online gaming frauds, job scams, and even identity theft through Facebook. He provided a comprehensive explanation of these threats, urging students to stay cautious. Inspector Sikander Chauhan discussed the issue of fake accounts created using the identities of deceased individuals, making it extremely difficult to trace fraudulent transactions. Sub Inspector Pallvi Rajput spoke about how to securely log in and use different websites, offering tips on identifying authentic sites and staying safe from hackers and fraudsters. She also recommended keeping personal information private on social media to avoid exposure to such risks. PSI Ajaz Ahmed from PS Samba was also present at the event. Students from various streams attended the session and interacted with the cyber security team. The entire program was coordinated by Dr. Pooja, and Rajni Bala Department of Commerce. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Pooja Gupta. |
