Jammu police cracks down on illegal mining & wood smuggling under 'Operation Ploughing | | | '" Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 15: Jammu Police, south Zone has taken stringent action against violators in the city South area under the ongoing operation code-named "Ploughing", aimed at cracking down on illegal mining activities, launched by SP South on the directions of SSP Jammu. Police Post Chatha seized two dumpers and two tractors involved in illegal mining. The vehicles were intercepted and seized as part of the ongoing crackdown on unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals. The execution was done by IC PP Chatha PSI Karnail Singh under the supervision of SDPO South. Additionally, in another major action, Police Post Phallian Mandal seized two vehicles loaded with kahir wood, bearing registration numbers JK02AN2526 and JK02CU2158. The vehicles were seized, and the matter has been reported to Forest Department for further necessary action. The execution was done by IC PP Phallianmandal PSI Balbir Singh and SHO Satwari Insp Jaipal Singh. Jammu Police remains committed to enforcing laws against illegal mining and forest offenses, ensuring strict action against violators. Operation Ploughing will continue to target those engaging in unlawful extraction and transportation activities, safeguarding environmental and public resources.
