Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Mar 18: In a significant step towards resolving water scarcity issues, BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member Pandit Suresh Sharma inaugurated two newly installed hand pumps at Laleyal Mohalla of Panchayat Choura in Block Chowki Choura and the famous Naunath Temple. The initiative, completed at a cost of ?10 lakh, fulfills a long-pending demand of the local residents. The lack of water in these areas had been a persistent challenge, especially at Naunath Devasthan, which attracts hundreds of devotees every year. Acknowledging the concerns of the people, Suresh Sharma took immediate action and announced the installation of two hand pumps, which were inaugurated today. Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sharma emphasized the ongoing efforts under the Jal Jeevan Mission, where water projects worth over ?100 crore are being executed at a rapid pace in Block Maira Mandrian and Chowki Choura. He assured that most of these projects are nearing completion, promising much-needed relief from water shortages. He also reiterated his commitment to installing hand pumps in areas where groundwater availability permits, ensuring that no locality suffers from a lack of clean drinking water. Grateful for the initiative, the local residents expressed their heartfelt thanks to Suresh Sharma for his dedication and prompt response to their concerns. In turn, he reaffirmed his commitment to working tirelessly to meet the needs of the people.
