GDC Sidhra organises activities under "Fit India" campaign | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 20: Department of Physical Education and Sports of GDC Sidhra under the able guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. G.S Rakwal organised various activities to commemorate "Fit India" initiative with an endeavour to educate the students about healthy lifestyle. The program was organised as per the directions received from Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, UT of J&K. FIT India initiative has been launched with a view to make fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioural changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle. Keeping these objectives in mind, GDC Sidhra organised many activities to educate the students. First of all, a 100 Meter run was organised in which students along with faculty members of the College participated enthusiastically. After that a Yoga session was organised in which Deepak Kumar, PTI of The College gave yoga demonstrations to the students. He stressed on the fact that yoga is integral in maintaining good health and mental well being. He elaborated on various yoga forms. He further said that yoga asanas should be practised daily for promoting good health and stress free mind. At last Principal of the college, Dr. G.S Rakwal spoke on the occasion and stressed on the importance of maintain healthy lifestyle. He motivated the students to adapt various lifestyle changes so that students maintain good health. Good health is very important as it improves learning potentials. He appreciated the efforts of Deepak Kumar in organising these activities. Program was organised by Deepak Kumar, PTI with active support and coordination of Prof. Gurjeet Singh and Prof. Jasdeep Singh under the guidance of the principal of the College Dr. G.S Rakwal. All the faculty members were present during the event. |
