"Run for Unity" organised by District Police at Doda

BHADERWAH, Mar 23: To commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, District Police Doda, under the Civic Action Programme, today organized a "Run for Unity" at the New Bus Stand, Bhaderwah.
The event aimed to promote national integration, fitness, and community engagement involving youth.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh- the chief guest, flagged off the marathon in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar; ASP Headquarters, ASP Bhaderwah and other government functionaries.
Addressing the participants, the DC emphasized the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and encouraged the youth to stay away from drugs and harmful substances. He highlighted that physical activities like running not only enhance fitness and endurance but also foster discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of unity. He assured that more such events would be hosted in coordination with the Department of Sports and Tourism to raise awareness about the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle. He stated that organizing the Run for Unity was aimed at promoting better health awareness and encouraging youth participation in sports and fitness activities.
The Run for Unity witnessed massive participation from students of government and private schools, local youth, and members of the police force. The marathon started from the New Bus Stand Bhaderwah and culminated at the Petrol Pump Site, covering a significant distance.
Male and female participants from diverse backgrounds ran together, symbolizing harmony and national unity. The event concluded with the felicitation of participants and a collective pledge to uphold the values of unity, fitness, and national integrity in daily life.
The event was attended by several officials, including Tehsildar Bhaderwah, ASP Bhaderwah, SDPO Bhaderwah, and BMO Bhaderwah, along with a large number of students, local residents and community members.
