Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 26: To celebrate 75th Year of adoption of Indian constitution by constituent assembly, Department of Political Science organised essay-writing Competition on the topic 'Features of Indian Constitution' under the able guidance of Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the College. The competition witnessed an enthusiastic response from students, reflecting their keen interest in enhancing their skills and knowledge. The competition aimed to engage students in meaningful discussions about the Constitution and its relevance, while also helping them improve their essay-writing skills, a critical component of competitive exams. Prof. Amit Bhalla, Head Department of Political Science highlighted the significance of constitution in a democratic set up. He said that a constitution acts as the foundational document in a democracy, outlining the framework for government structure, individual rights, and citizen participation, essentially serving as the "rulebook" for how power is distributed and exercised, ensuring stability and legitimacy within a democratic system.
