Early Times Report RAJOURI, Mar 26: In a continued effort to provide healthcare support to border communities, the Rajouri Battalion of BSF organized a free medical camp at Chamba, Panjgrain village on Tuesday under the Civic Action Program. The initiative aimed to extend essential medical services to underprivileged sections of society, ensuring accessible and quality healthcare. The camp was formally inaugurated by Sh. Chandermohan Singh Rawat, DIG SHQ BSF Rajouri, along with Sh. Kamal Rawat, Commandant, Rajouri Battalion BSF, at Government Higher Secondary School, Panjgrain. A team of medical professionals, including Dr. T Sai Krishna (CMO/OG, SHQ BSF Rajouri), Dr. D Keerthi (AC/MO, Rajouri Battalion BSF), and Major Ribhu Sharma (RMO, 6 Jak LI unit), provided consultations and treatment to hundreds of beneficiaries. During the camp, 197 patients were examined, and 37 individuals underwent blood grouping tests. Free health check-ups for children, distribution of medicines, and specialized screenings for diabetes, blood pressure (BP), ECG, and deworming for school children were conducted. Additionally, sanitary pads were distributed to young girls and women, accompanied by an awareness lecture on menstrual hygiene to promote women's health and well-being. To engage and encourage children, curricular and sports activities were also organized, with prizes distributed among participants. The village pradhan and principal of the Higher Secondary School expressed their heartfelt gratitude to BSF for this noble initiative and urged for more such outreach programs in the future. BSF remains dedicated to organizing confidence-building and welfare programs to support and uplift border populations, reaffirming its commitment to community service. |
