Samba police foils bovine smuggling attempt, rescues eight bovines | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Mar 27: Continuing its crackdown on bovine smuggling, Samba Police successfully foiled an attempt to illegally transport bovines and rescued eight animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. The vehicle used for smuggling was also seized. Acting on reliable intelligence, Samba Police received information about the illegal transportation of bovines in a Mahindra Bolero (registration No. JK02CT-2243) moving from Mananu towards Mansar. A police team, led by the SHO of Police Station Samba, swiftly intercepted the vehicle at Mananu. During the inspection, eight bovines were found tied in a cruel manner inside the vehicle, being transported without valid permission. The police promptly rescued the animals and relocated them to a safer place. A case has been registered under FIR No. 82/2025 U/S 223 BNS 11 PCA Act at Police Station Samba, and further investigation is underway. |
