Desh Bhagat University observes World TB Day with awareness drive

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Mar 28: The School of Nursing Desh Bhagat University proudly marked World Tuberculosis (TB) Day with a landmark event dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of Tuberculosis within the Black community. Spearheaded by Ms. Bhupinder Saini and Ms. Meenu Bala, the event was designed to educate on TB prevention, testing, and treatment, while addressing health disparities in marginalized populations.
The event was graced by distinguished figures including Prof. (Dr.) Lovesampuranjot Kaur, Principal of the School of Nursing, and Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing.
A standout moment of the day was the active participation of B.Sc Nursing 1st Semester students, who played a pivotal role in delivering a compelling health talk at Civil Hospital, Khanna. Their engagement was instrumental in spreading vital information about Tuberculosis to school students, promoting preventive measures, and encouraging timely testing and treatment.
Dr. Zora Singh Ji, Hon'ble Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, lauded the School of Nursing team's efforts, praising their dedication and enthusiasm in organizing such a significant event. He emphasized the critical role of collective action in raising awareness and combating TB, reaffirming the importance of community involvement in addressing health challenges.
Through initiatives like this, the School of Nursing continues to lead the charge in advocating for health equity, empowering communities to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
