Agencies NEW DELHI, Mar 28: In a historic move aimed at aligning with global best practices, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a major change in its examination system. The 26th Council of ICAI has decided to conduct the CA Final exam three times a year, providing students with increased opportunities to appear for the exam. Previously, the CA Final exam was held twice annually. This decision follows ICAI's earlier move to conduct the Intermediate and Foundation course exams three times a year. Now, with all three levels-CA Final, Intermediate, and Foundation-having an equal number of exam attempts, students will have greater flexibility and more chances to clear their exams. The exams will now be held in January, May, and September each year. Additionally, ICAI has also announced a revision in the schedule of the Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit. Previously held twice a year in June and December, the Assessment Test for this course will now be conducted three times a year, in February, June, and October, further enhancing accessibility for ICAI members. Speaking on this landmark decision, CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President, ICAI, stated, "These epoch-making decisions will significantly benefit both students and members, offering them enhanced opportunities for success. This marks a new era in the way we support and guide our future Chartered Accountants. ICAI is committed to working round the clock for the growth of its members and students. This historic change will ensure abundant opportunities for success in their careers." This initiative reflects ICAI's commitment to enhancing the learning experience, increasing flexibility, and fostering professional growth among aspiring Chartered Accountants in India. |
