Reasi police seizes heroin, arrests smuggler in Katra | | | Early Times Report KATRA, Mar 28: Continuing its relentless drive against drug abuse, the District Police Reasi has tightened its noose on narcotics smugglers. In a significant operation, a patrolling team from Police Station Katra intercepted a suspected individual and recovered 07 grams of heroin-like substance along with packing material from his possession. The accused has been identified as Kasturi Lal, son of Madan Lal, resident of Matyal, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi. Following the recovery, a case FIR No. 86/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra, and an investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the drug supply chain. The operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Police Station Katra, Inspector Khyatimaan Khajuria, and supervised by SDPO Katra, Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS, and SP Katra, Vipan Chandran, JKPS. Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Sh. Paramvir Singh, JKPS, emphasized that Reasi Police is working on a multi-pronged strategy to combat drug abuse and illicit liquor trade. He assured that no stone will be left unturned in eradicating the menace of narcotics from society.
