Jammu police arrests drug peddler, seizes heroin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Jammu Police under Police Station Bus Stand arrested a drug peddler and seized approximately 5 grams of heroin (Chitta) in the Bus Stand area. The operation was led by SHO Inspector Vikas Dogra as part of ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace. The accused, Amir Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, resident of Bhatra, Budgam, was found in possession of the contraband. A case has been registered under FIR No. 24/2025 at Police Station Bus Stand under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, and investigations are underway to uncover possible links to a larger drug network. The operation was conducted under the close supervision of SP North Jammu and SDPO City North. Jammu Police have assured continued strict action against those involved in drug-related crimes and urged citizens to remain vigilant. Appealing for public cooperation, the police emphasized the importance of reporting suspicious activities to help create a drug-free Jammu.
