Eid prayers were conducted peacefully across all 79 mosques in South Zone, with elaborate security arrangements put in place to ensure the safety of worshippers. Adequate deployment of police personnel was made at mosques, Eidgahs, and other religious congregations, ensuring smooth conduct of the festivities. Additionally Jammu Police, South Zone, continuing its firm stance against illegal mining under Operation Ploughing, has seized a dumper and a tipper involved in unauthorized mineral extraction. The actions were taken by Police Post (PP) Bathindi and PP Belicharana, respectively, as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal mining activities in the region. Acting on clear directions from SSP Jammu and under the supervision of SP City South, SDPO South with additional charge of SDPO East, the police teams intercepted the vehicles. The dumper was seized by PP Bathindi, while the tipper was found in violation of legal mining activities and seized by PP Belicharana. Jammu Police remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal mining, recognizing its adverse impact on the environment and depletion of valuable natural resources.
