Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 1: NCC Unit of Dogra Degree College, in collaboration with Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Amphalla, Jammu successfully organized a motivational lecture on 'Defence Forces (Officer Level)' on April 1st, 2025. The event took place at the College Auditorium and saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and dignitaries. The program began with the best wishes and blessings of Chairman DET, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak. Following this, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, DET, addressed the gathering, motivating students to consider careers in the armed forces and emphasizing the need for dedicated youth to serve the nation. His inspiring words set a positive tone for the event. The event then commenced with the presentation of a sapling as a gesture of growth and commitment, followed by a warm welcome and stage management by Ms. Heenam Bhagat, Faculty, DDC. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration of the program. Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of the armed forces and the role of youth in National Defence. The highlight of the event was a lecture delivered by Col. Abhay Sharma, Director Recruiting, ARO, who inspired the attendees with insights into career opportunities and the selection process for officer-level positions in the Indian Defence Forces. His presentation included detailed information on eligibility criteria, training procedures, and the challenges and rewards of a career as a Defence Officer. He also encouraged students to build physical and mental resilience to succeed in the selection process. The audience, comprising NCC Cadets and college students, actively participated in an interactive Q&A session where they sought guidance on various aspects of Defence careers. Col. Abhay Sharma addressed their queries with practical advice and shared motivational anecdotes from his own experiences. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Gulshan Sharma, CTO/ANO, NCC, DDC, who expressed gratitude to the esteemed guest and all participants for making the event a success. The event wrapped up with the National Anthem and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
